Apt itself is in a walk-up building (1 flight) and is perfect for a solo traveler or perhaps a couple. Kitchen is very small but had a W/D and dishwasher which was unexpected and nice. Bed is comfortable and we slept with the windows open for a nice breeze (keep in mind it’s super loud outside so if you’re a light sleeper keep the windows shut). Unit is older but they’ve done some updating, it was extremely clean given the age and has a tiny view of the Bosphorus if you lean out the Juliet balcony. :)
Burak was extremely easy to communicate with and met us at the unit to give us a mini tour upon our arrival. Was the perfect option for our very brief two nights in the city and near all the restaurants etc that we wanted to go to. Would be great option for the budget traveler looking for a longer stay.
Burak is also a great host. We dealt with some minor and unavoidable repair issues while staying at his flat for over a month and he was wonderful about accommodating our schedules. He was also gracious enough to give several good recommendations on restaurants and walks nearby, and even booked a taxi for us on several occasions! Just all and all, the best type of AirBnB host you could ask for, exemplary of what the community is supposed to be about.
We would highly recommend Burak's apartment to any individuals or couples cooking to experience Cihangir in an up close and intimate way, to live "like a local", as it were.
